A “blackbox” is a device used to record the airplane cockpit in event of a crash, the contents of which are sealed behind an armored shell. The function of this specific box is reversed so that it broadcasts instead of records. The speaker and projector hidden within the interior of the box play real transcripts and audio of recovered recordings from ten past crashes on a loop.

By displaying the testimony of pilots on these planes, the Blackbox provides insight into the prospect of an abrupt and imminent end.
